Showcasing UQ's impact on the world stage

27 Oct 2017

Global impactGlobal Engagement has developed a new web resource to profile UQ's global connectivity: Global Impact

Global Impact showcases UQ’s existing and emerging research collaboration with world-leading universities, research institutes, funding agencies, industry, government bodies, and community organisations.

Engagement case studies and metrics – such as research collaboration, co-publications, grant funding, alumni, institutional partnerships, student mobility, and academic staff – can now be found in one central location across nine regions and 16 showcase countries. The content has been developed in consultation with schools and faculty as a way to showcase the depth and breadth of UQ’s global engagement.

UQ is the first university in Australia, and one of the few in the world, to have such a comprehensive website detailing its global impact.

The team aims to update Global Impact several times throughout the year – please, help us ensure this is a university-wide initiative by providing your feedback and keeping the Global Engagement team up-to-date with your School or Faculty’s research projects, and student and staff mobility programs.

UQ has an extensive network of partnerships around the world, and Global Engagement has developed a suite of mechanisms to strengthen international collaboration. These include country and partner briefs, structured partnership plans, interactive online maps, and data-rich frameworks that draw together information from across the University’s information systems to plan and measure engagement at partner and country levels. The Global Impact initiative adds to this existing suite, with a view to create and maintain sustainable partnerships with lasting value for all stakeholders.
